Journey to Life

Each day we walk into the unknown,
Our journey marked not by time, but
By seeds scattered along the way.

Path's well worn, many feet have trod.
Once buried stones bruise tender soles.

Nature's bounty tempts, entices!

Colors and textures promise more.
Intoxicating, almost remembered,
Smells tease heightened senses.

Nettles, spiny needles burrow and sting;
Thorns rip, blood drips absorbed into the soil.

Sticky seeds, burrs attach to body and soul.

Blended from other paths,
Seasoned clingers begin their fall,
Burrowing into a new “found” home.

Now leaving behind..
Changed landscapes, travelers yet to come,

We journey to the next unknown.
