Undying Love

Taller than the tallest tree,
yet graceful as a gazelle,
Mother Earth flows into the false dawn.

Morning mist caresses her feet.
Low clouds halo her head.
Her voice calls soft and sultry.

Father Sun jumps the horizon,
Rising high to glimpse her beauty.
He knows her needs.

A bridge between earth and sky,
Warmth and light follow her
On her journey across the earth.

She pauses and winks.
He sighs the colors of love as he
Melts into the horizon.

Soon they will meet again
On another shore
